The Department of Agriculture of Fars province has committed to a programme of Participatory Plant Breeding on rain-fed bread wheat.
Director of Fars Agriculture, Mehrzad Kherad, welcomed the new project, saying that though the province has thousands of hectares of rainfed agricutlure, the formal research system was only focused on varieties for irrigated conditions. The trials will be planted in 6 locations in 3 different agro-climatic zones.
