According to Tasnim News, the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Alimorad Akbari, said that the amount of required credit for Khoda Afarin is expected to reach 1,300 billion tomans, with 450 billion already spent. “In total, about 42,500 hectares in the whole of Ardabil province will see modern irrigation networks implemented.”

Khoda Afarin is a dam on the Aras river in East Azerbaijan Province. Completed in 2008 and inaugurated in 2010, the irrigation works in the downstream area are still underway.
