White mangrove (Avicennia marina) lopping
Location: Sistan and Baluchistan
- The Harra forest is the common name for mangrove forests on the southern coast of Iran, dominated by the species Avicennia marina, known locally as the harra tree. These forests represent an important ecological resource.
- During 2 months of the species regeneration, indigenous people strictly conserve (isolate) the natural habitat but just after this duration, they take their camels there for grazing. They believe that it helps the species reproduction and sustainability.
