Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi rejected “the elimination of human hunger” as motivation for GMOs and said the motivation was based on economics. Referring to the important duty of the Ministry of Health and Agriculture, he emphasised that experts should provide their comments concerning GMOs and health issues.
